One of the most exciting moments of the night was watching our first-place winners see their writing brought to life as a book of their own—an unforgettable experience for these young authors. In addition, our SEVEN region winners were honored with trophies in recognition of their exceptional accomplishments.
Judging by the promise shown in their work, it’s not hard to imagine some of these authors appearing on future best-seller lists one day! 📚

The girls golf team—Alyssa Pennington, Emily Hardie, Jade Mullis, and Jordan Bird—earned third place, qualifying them for state as well! War Eagle Proud!👏

We cannot thank the incredible volunteers and docents from Georgia Writers Museum and the Old School History Museum enough for the time, care, and heart they poured into making this a meaningful and memorable learning experience for our future voters.

From an early morning arrival to a full schedule of meaningful conversations, the visit highlighted the incredible work happening across our district. Guests were welcomed by our Superintendent and CTAE Director, setting the tone for a day centered on collaboration and excellence. Mr. Abney, our Science Department Chair, provided the introduction and avenue for this guest speaker opportunity.
Our recently named Georgia Nutrition Director of the Year, Teena Carr, shared insights on our innovative harvesting initiative and the many opportunities it creates for cross-curricular learning. A special highlight of the day was meeting student leader Coreyona Farley, an Education as a Profession Apprenticeship participant and member of both the State and District Superintendent Advisory Boards—truly representing the bright future of teaching.
Mrs. Kinsaul led an engaging guest speaker session, where students explored their own personalities and gained valuable skills for working effectively with others.
We’re grateful for the opportunity to share our story and celebrate excellence in education right here at PCHS!

This year, our Service Leadership students didn’t just hear from guest speakers — they were challenged, encouraged, and inspired by leaders who shared real stories, real struggles, and real wisdom.
From law, education, public service, healthcare, business, the arts, and beyond, each speaker reminded our students that leadership is rooted in integrity, empathy, service, and growth. Powerful conversations sparked reflection, meaningful questions, and a deeper understanding of what it means to lead with purpose.
Thank you to every guest who poured into our students and helped shape the leaders they are becoming. 💙

Future Service Leadership students just hit the grant jackpot as we were awarded funding for THREE projects:
“Show Up & Show Out” (our alumni + community showcase)
“Level Up the Look” (from everyday service to professional representation: tees, polos, and dress shirts)
“Built to Last” (organization & storage)
Basically, we’re getting organized, looking professional, and celebrating the people who helped build this program.
I’m excited because these initiatives strengthen the foundation of Service Leadership and equip students with the tools, confidence, and opportunities to lead with purpose.
The goal is to develop students who not only serve, but understand their impact, use their voice effectively, and carry those skills beyond high school.
Huge thank you to Putnam Education Foundation for believing in our students and investing in work that matters!
💙 🎤🤝
